Disclosure 3 The Board of Trustees, employees, and students must disclose any conflict of interest related to remuneration, contractual relationships, employment, family, or finances. Board members must explicitly complete disclosure forms annually.
Pharmaceutical samples 2 Policy does include some limitations on samples including the requirement that a letter of agreement must accompany the distribution of samples clarifying the intention of the donation.
Purchasing & Formularies 1 Policy does not address purchasing decisions or formularies.
Industry Sales Representatives 1 Policy does not address interactions between sales representatives and the medical school/center.
On-campus Education 1 Policy does not address any aspects of on-site education.
Attendance at Industry-Sponsored Lectures & Meetings Off-Campus 2 Policy does address off site education and mandates that industry support for travel can only be provided as educational grants into an educational account (not directly to specific individuals). However, all industry support is not explicitly prohibited and is not subject to review.
Industry Support for Scholarships & Funds for Trainees 2 Policy also specifies that training activities must be clearly differentiated from sales activities.
Medical school curriculum 1 There is no curriculum information included in this policy.
Do the policies specify an oversight mechanism? Yes Individuals are directed to the Human Resources Department if they have any questions/concerns with respect to conflicts of interest and the school policy.
Are there explicit sanctions for noncompliance? Yes Members of the Board of Trustees can be removed from the board if they fail to comply with disclosure guidelines. Sanctions for employees/students are unclear.
